The Pacific Road Runners Annual General Meeting will take place on Thursday November 19 at 7:30 pm in the False Creek Community Center “Granville Island Room”. All members are welcome.
All positions on the exec are open to competition. The following 2009 exec members have offered to come back - but if you really really want their jobs I’m sure they’d welcome you.

Monika has already stepped up to fill the Membership position; Monique is in for VP - and I’m planning to take on clothing. So we’re down to President.
Time to step up! (Note that the new President has the right to redefine the role. There is nothing in the rules that requires the President to do all of the announcements or the blog postings. These duties can be shared with other members of the exec.)

So basically we may be able to convince Monique to take the VP job but we need a secretary for sure. The Secretary’s job: take minutes at each of the 3-4 exec meetings per year, plus the AGM.
Remember - all positions are open to competition. If you have a burning desire to produce the newsletter or handle membership, Karen and Sukhi probably won’t be upset - in fact, they might kiss you for it.
*Clothing is a big job - if anyone wants to help with design and sourcing, Paul would be happy to have your assistance. We’re calling it the Clothing Task Force.
Survey Results:
36 PRR members filled in the survey. 30 gave us their names. The draw for the clothing prize will take place at the AGM. Detailed survey breakdowns including all of your helpful comments will be available at the AGM as well.
Overall - it seems it’s the little things. You particularly enjoy the March Social, the July BBQ and the Christmas Party. You like variety in the socials.
You’re not choked up about losing Manning and would like to see a couple of day trips in its place.
You’d rather go to Victoria than Kelowna - so next year’s fall trip will be Victoria. We’ll work on finding a hotel deal ASAP.
You’d like to combine the 25th anniversary with the Christmas Party (2009) for one big bash.
You’d like new short sleeve shirts and a different style of shorts.
There was a suggestion for a 25th Anniversary shirt or jacket. Nice! We’ll try to pull that off - but it will be an “order in advance” item rather than a stocked item.
You’re okay with the electronic newsletter but would prefer to receive it by email (which due to the size of the newsletter isn’t possible. Most people’s email accounts will reject it) Alternatively you’d like to simply download it from our website. We’re looking into that. For now - same as last newsletter but we’ll include instructions in the email on how to access the file.

Our last exec meeting prior to the AGM is Oct. 16. That’s when we’ll find out which positions may be vacated on the exec. But if you have a burning desire to join the exec all positions are open to competition.
