Canadian Death Race

Now why would anyone run a race with a name like that?  You’d have to be crazy - right Bill and Jess?

The 125 km course begins and ends on a 4200 foot plateau, passes over three mountain summits and includes 17,000 feet of elevation change and a major river crossing.

Here’s how Jess described it in a text message :

“I fin in 22hrs 52min wit my frnd krys. Bill had 2 stop at100 km as he had” problems ( editor’s note: real problem edited out - ask Bill if you want details). “It was a hot day. Hard 2 hydrate and stomach issues. He saw the best part. last 25km really not worth it. Wld rather have skipped it myself!  Very hard race. Never again!!!”

For anyone who wants to know more about the race http://www.canadiandeathrace.com/home.html

Congrats to both of you.  A little extra congrats to Jess for finishing!

Yeah, but what Jess didn’t say is that she finished 3rd in her category!! Waaaay to go! And NO, that wasn’t 3rd out of 3 it was 3rd out of 8, and I am assuming that was 8 who finished, not 8 who started. Well done! Bill, sorry to hear of your troubles, but I’m kind of thinking we may have heard all we really need to know.
